General Repair
Subaru specialists who handle the complete car — not just the services with their own page. If it's wrong with your Subaru, we fix it.
Subaru Specialists Don't
Stop at Maintenance.
Our focused pages cover the services we're asked about most — oil changes, timing belts, head gaskets, brakes. But a Subaru specialist shop handles everything. Worn struts, a leaking valve cover, an exhaust that's finally rusted through, an AC system that stopped cooling in July — these are the jobs that come through our door every week, handled by the same ASE Certified technicians who do the major engine work.
If your Subaru needs repair and you're not sure where to start, bring it in. We'll inspect it, tell you exactly what we find, prioritize by urgency, and give you a written estimate before any work is authorized. No ambiguity about scope, no work you didn't approve.
- Full vehicle inspection to assess scope before quoting repairs
- Written estimate with itemized parts and labor — no surprises
- Repairs prioritized by urgency — safety-critical first, cosmetic last
- OEM-spec or better parts on every repair item
- 2-year warranty on all parts and labor
What We Handle
Everything that doesn't fit a single service page — and quite a bit that does.
Suspension & Steering
Struts and shocks, control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links and end links, steering rack, and wheel bearings. Subaru struts are a common wear item — especially on Outbacks and Foresters used on rough roads — and worn suspension components show up in handling, tire wear, and alignment before they become safety concerns. We inspect, measure, and replace what actually needs replacing.
Exhaust System
Exhaust manifold gaskets, catalytic converters, flex pipes, resonators, mufflers, and hangers. Subaru boxer engines place the exhaust manifolds low and outboard — they see more heat cycling and road exposure than most layouts, and manifold gasket leaks are common on higher-mileage EJ engines. A ticking or hissing noise on startup that quiets when the engine warms up is often the first sign.
AC & Climate Control
AC system diagnosis, refrigerant recharge, compressor replacement, condenser and evaporator service, and blend door actuator repair. An AC system that blows warm air isn't always low on refrigerant — compressor clutch failure, condenser damage, and refrigerant leaks at fittings or the evaporator all present similarly. We diagnose the actual failure before charging a system that will just leak down again.
Engine Oil Leaks
Valve cover gaskets, cam and crank seals, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and oil cooler lines. Subaru's horizontally opposed engine layout means oil leaks don't always drip straight down — they often migrate across the block before reaching the ground, making source identification tricky. We clean, pressurize, and trace leaks to their actual origin rather than replacing components based on their proximity to an oil stain.
Fuel System
Fuel injector cleaning and replacement, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and fuel filter service. Hard starting, rough idle, hesitation under acceleration, and poor fuel economy can all trace back to the fuel system — or to something else entirely. We verify fuel pressure and injector function before condemning components, and we scope injector spray patterns when the data warrants it.
Pre-Purchase Follow-Up
Bought a used Subaru and now you have a list? We work through post-purchase repairs systematically — safety-critical items first, then deferred maintenance, then condition items. Whether it's a pre-purchase inspection list from us or findings from somewhere else, we'll go through it item by item and give you honest guidance on what to address immediately, what to plan for, and what can wait.
One Shop.
The Complete Car.
Subaru Specialists, Full Scope
Specializing in Subaru doesn't mean we only do oil changes and head gaskets. It means every repair we do — suspension, exhaust, AC, fuel system — is done by technicians who know the specific design, the common failure modes, and the correct procedure for these cars. That knowledge matters even on a strut replacement or an exhaust leak repair.
Honest Prioritization
When your Subaru has a list of repairs, we help you think through it clearly. Safety-critical items get flagged as urgent with a plain explanation of why. Items that are worn but not dangerous get honest remaining-life estimates. Items that are cosmetic or minor get noted without pressure. You leave with information to make a real decision, not a service order designed to maximize revenue from your visit.
2-Year Warranty
Every repair we perform — regardless of whether it's on a specific service page or a one-off job — is covered by our 2-year warranty on parts and labor. We use quality parts, we do the work correctly, and we stand behind it. That's true whether it's a valve cover gasket or a complete engine repair.
General Repair FAQ
I have a list of repairs from my last inspection — where do I start?
Start with anything safety-critical: brakes below minimum, tires with structural concerns, steering components with play, leaking brake or fuel lines. After safety items, address anything that if left alone will cause a more expensive failure — a weeping water pump, a cracked coolant hose, a CV boot that's torn but the joint is still good. Cosmetic and comfort issues (minor oil seeps that aren't growing, worn interior components) can generally wait. If you bring us a list, we'll go through it with you and give you a straight read on what's urgent and what isn't.
My Subaru needs a repair not listed anywhere on your site — can you handle it?
Almost certainly yes. Our service pages cover the most common questions, not the complete scope of what we do. If you have a specific repair need — a sunroof that won't close, a broken seat adjuster, a wiring harness issue, something obscure — call or message us with the details. We'll tell you honestly if it's within our scope or if there's a better resource for that specific job.
Do you work on modified or lifted Subarus?
Yes, with some caveats. Lifted Subarus, Subarus with aftermarket suspension, and those running non-stock wheel and tire combinations are a significant part of our customer base — especially in the Auburn and Foothills area. We work on modified cars regularly. Some modifications affect what repairs are possible or cost-effective, and we'll be upfront about that when it's relevant. If you have a modified Subaru with a specific concern, give us a call and describe the setup before you schedule.
How do I know when my struts actually need replacement?
The clearest signs are excessive body motion over bumps (the car continues bouncing after you hit a dip rather than settling immediately), nose dive under braking that feels more pronounced than it used to, or visible oil weeping from the shock body. The bounce test — pushing down on each corner of the car and releasing — is a rough indicator but not definitive. Worn struts don't always feel dramatically bad; sometimes the car just feels vague and unsettled in a way that's hard to describe. We measure and inspect during every multi-point inspection and give you an honest read on remaining life.
Another shop gave me an estimate that seems high — can I get a second opinion?
Yes — and we offer free second opinions at no charge, with no obligation to book the work with us. Bring the estimate in, describe the symptoms, and we'll give you an honest assessment of whether the diagnosis is correct, whether the recommended repair is necessary, and how our pricing compares. If the other shop was right and the price is fair, we'll tell you that too. See our Free Second Opinions page for more detail.
